According to oral tradition The Cetic Family is relatively young family originated in the eighteenth century. All Cetics originating from Grmec, from a place called Majkica Japra. It is not clear, but the most likely they were named Majkic (see more details on the link Roots ).

The family branch in Bihac today is derived from a common ancestor, and all Cetics in Bihac are closely related. The family tree shown on this site is actually a story of seven generations Family Cetic from Bihac and timely reaches to the early nineteenth century.

The Cetic family is one of the prominent urban islamic faith families in Bihac, but there are outside of Bihac the Cetics orthodox and catholic faith. There are several families in Prijedor (Rasavci), then one family in Belgrade and one in Novi Sad. There are two Cetic families in Croatia, and two in Slovenia. Outside of the Balkan Peninsula, there is one family in Germany, then one family in Switzerland, and several families in the United States. It is interesting that the Cetics began to settle on the American continent in XIX century. Probably the oldest known Cetic is an American immigrant Maria Cetic in the nineteenth century (see link Sources ).
